Parks & Recreation

Beth McCollum, Director

The Brookfield Parks and Recreation Department is proud of the many facilities and activities it offers for the community’s enjoyment.  Residents and visitors can picnic in neighborhood parks and playgrounds, cheer for their favorite team or get some practice at one of the many sports fields, enjoy a game of tennis, or spend quiet time fishing on the city lake.

Many shelter houses in the city parks are available to rent for parties and picnics. Brookfield’s Baseball and Softball Program provides an outstanding foundation for kids participating in these sports, and the sports fields are available for rent as well.

The Lavon Burris Community Center with its spacious event room and modern kitchen is a wonderful location for hosting family reunions, graduation parties, wedding receptions, meetings, and more.

Families look forward to summer afternoons relaxing and playing at the Brookfield City Aquatic Center. Brookfield’s beautiful aquatic center has many fun water features as well as a fully stocked concession stand. It also offers water aerobics, swimming lessons, and is available to rent for parties.

Get your exercise by playing 18 holes of Disc Golf at the South City Park.  Fun for the entire family!
