Mission Statement

The mission of the Brookfield Fire Department is to protect and preserve life and property from the adverse effects of fire and dangerous conditions through prevention, education, rescue, and response.

Brookfield Rural Fire Department

Any non-city resident interested in membership to the Brookfield Rural Fire Department can contact Treasurer Jim Maxwell (660-258-2492) or Board President Jr. Sisson (660-258-4200).

Calls

The fire department responds to emergency calls involving residences, businesses, natural covers (grass fires), search and rescue operations, extrication from motor vehicle accidents, mutual aid, and security system alarms.

The department responds to an average of 105 calls per calendar year.

History

The Brookfield Fire Department was established in 1870 as the Brookfield Hook & Ladder Co. and later changed to the Brookfield Fire Department.
