Meet Council Member: Sarah Wessing
A lifelong resident of Brookfield, Sarah Wessing is proud to call this community home. She and her husband, Bob Wessing, have built a strong family rooted in local ties. They are the proud parents of two children—Molly and Michael—and enjoy time with their growing family, which includes six beloved grandchildren: Mason, Baylee, Brenley, Bowden, Brooks, and Blakely. Molly is a teacher in Kearney and is married to Tim, who teaches in Liberty. Michael and his wife Brittany own Pigskin Pub & Pizza right here in Brookfield.
Sarah holds an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management from North Central Missouri College. She is a member of the First Christian Church, P.E.O., and serves on the Brookfield Country Club Board of Directors. She previously served on the Library Board and is deeply committed to community involvement. Having grown up helping at her parents’ local business, Bowden’s Decorating Center, Sarah later worked there while raising her children. She also dedicated 25 years to working in the Missouri school system before retiring.
Now serving her ninth year on the Brookfield City Council, Sarah continues to bring her passion for public service, her love of gardening and golf, and her deep local roots to everything she does for the city.
