Richard Techau

Richard Techau, owner of North Central Missouri Graphics, a print shop and office supply business, has been a main street businessman in Brookfield since 1983. Richard has been very active in public life. Richard previously served for 21 years on the Brookfield City Council and has now been reelected 6 years later. He was first elected in 1995 and served as mayor from 2002 to 2007. Richard believes that each councilperson brings a different perspective to the table and that this is important in order to represent the whole community.

Richard also serves on the board of Green Hills Ballooning, Inc., sponsors of the Great Pershing Balloon Derby, and belongs to Brookfield Lodge #874 of The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, holding various offices for over 40 years. In 1984, he was elected Exalted Ruler of the Elks and in 2007 was President of the Missouri Elks Association, which involved travel to all lodges in Missouri.  For the past 8 years he has been the Grand Lodge Auditing and Accounting Committee person for Area 5 which encompasses Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Richard and his wife, Sherry, live in Brookfield, where Sherry is employed as a HR/Financial Systems Supervisor for Walsworth. Richard’s daughter is an elementary learning disabilities teacher and has two children.
