Special Operations

The Brookfield Police Department actively participates and is a member of the North Missouri Drug Task Force. Two department officers with special drug enforcement training have been dedicated as liaison officers with the Drug Task Force. These officers currently work with members of the DTF investigating drug related crimes within the City. These same officers are on call to assist the DTF in other member jurisdictions as well.

The Brookfield Police Department introduced a Police Canine program in 2015 to assist in combating illegal narcotics activity in the community.

The department currently has five (5) members that have completed the training and have met this departments qualifications to be members of the North Central Major Case Squad. The Major Case Squad is comprised of specially trained criminal investigators from police departments, sheriff offices, state highway patrol and other law enforcement entities in a nine county area. The Major Case Squad stands ready to assist in major criminal investigations were individual departments lack the available manpower to address such an investigation in a timely manner.

Other special operations of this department include a tactical response team comprised of members of this department who have received specialized training in additional weapons and tactics to address unusual threats to our citizens.
