The Brookfield Fire Department consists of volunteers. Interested individuals may pick up an application at City Hall, 116 West Brooks Street. Applications will be reviewed by the Fire Chief and all department members. If approval is granted by the Fire Chief and its members, the applicant will be accepted as a member. Fire Department members are paid quarterly through the Fire Department budget of the City of Brookfield.
Training is done in house by Lieutenant Scott Chrisman or through the MUFRTI. New members should meet NFPA requirements of 240 hours within the first year of employment.

- All candidates are required to have a valid driver's license, a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent certification, and be at least 21 years old
